Friend of God

Characteristics of a Wali (Loyal slave of the Creator / One who is close to Almighty God)

The word 'Awliya' singular 'wali' comes from the root word of wilaya. Wilaya is the opposite of enmity. The Wali is therefore the one who is close.
AlMighty God has explained in His Book, and in the Hadith of His Messenger, peace and blessings of AlMighty God be upon him, that He has awliya among the people and that shaitaan (devil) also has his awliya amoung the people.
The Quran mentions the allies of AlMighty God.
"Indeed there is no fear upon the awliya of AlMighty God, nor shall they grieve; those who believe and used to fear AlMighty God much. For them are glad tidings in this life and the Hereafter…"  10:62

"AlMighty God is the protector of those who believe, He takes them out of darkness into light."  2:257

The allies of devil have also been mentioned in the Quran.

"…As for those who disbelieve, their allies are the taaghoot who take them out of the light and into the darkness. Those are the people of fire, and they will be in it forever." 2: 257

"We have made the devils allies of those who do not believe;  those who commit outrages and then say: "We found our predecessors on this (tradition)" Surely they have taken the devils as allies instead of AlMighty God, and they think that they are on guidance" 7:27-28

Abu Huraira, may AlMighty God be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of God said:
"AlMighty God, the Exalted said: "Whoever takes a Wali of Mine as an enemy, I will wage war on him; and My slave will not perform any act with which he draws closer to Me, more beloved to Me then when he fulfills what I have ordained on him; and My salve will keep drawing closer to Me by performing the Nawafil (voluntary acts of worship) until I love him, and when I love him, I will be his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hands with which he strikes, and his legs with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him; and if he seeks refuge with Me, I will grant him refuge."  Bukhari

From this narration and the above-mentioned, we know that the Awliya of AlMighty God are those who believe in AlMighty God and give Him their full loyalty Thus, they love all that AlMighty God loves, hate what AlMighty God hates, are pleased with what AlMighty God is pleased with, despise what AlMighty God despises, they enjoin what AlMighty God enjoins, forbid that what He forbids, give to those whom AlMighty God loves for them to be given, and withhold from those whom AlMighty God loves not to receive.

The allies of AlMighty God are of two levels: forerunners those who brought near - and those of the right hand who act in moderation. AlMighty God, the Exalted says reminding the Day of Judgment: "And you (all) will be in three kinds (separate groups). So those on the Right Hand and Who will be those of the Right Hand? And those on the Left Hand and who will be those on the Left Hand? And those foremost will be foremost in Paradise. They will be those nearest to AlMighty God."  56:8-12

And again AlMighty God says in the end of the same Surah: "Then, if the dying person be of the Muqarraboon (those brought near to AlMighty God.) (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). And if he be of those on the Right Hand. Then there is safety and peace for those on the Right Hand. But if he be of the denying then for him is entertainment with boiling water and burning in Hell-Fire." 56:88-94

And the actions of these two groups are mentioned in the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of AlMighty God be upon him,:
"AlMighty God says: "Whoever takes a Wali (loyal slave) of Mine an enemy, I will wage war on him; and My slave will not perform any act with which he draws closer to Me, more beloved to Me then when he fulfills what I have ordained on him; and My salve will keep drawing closer to Me by performing the Nawafil (voluntary acts of worship) until I love him, and when I love him, I will be his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hands with which he strikes, and his legs with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him; and if he seeks refuge with Me, I will grant him refuge." Bukhari

The Allies of AlMighty God have no Special Appearance
The allies of AlMighty God have no special appearance with which they differ from other people. They have no special dress from other than just being permissible. Rather, they are to be found in all categories of the nation of Muhammad, peace and blessings of AlMighty God be upon him. However, the Quran and the Sunnah show clearly that the best people in the sight of AlMighty God is the one with the most of Taqwa.

"O people, we have created you from a male and a female and made you in peoples and tribes that you may know each other. Verily, the noblest of you in the sight of AlMighty God is the greatest in righteous practice." 49:13

Heart is an intuitions and not protected from falling into errors, and so one needs always to measure them against that which has been brought by the Prophet, peace and blessings of AlMighty God be upon him, the protected from falling into error. And the early scholars of Islam have unanimously agreed that the opinions of any man can be accepted and rejected i.e. they are open to questions except for the statements of the Prophet. The point being made here is an issue of complete consensus of the allies of AlMighty God: It is obligatory upon the allies of AlMighty God to hold tight to the criterion; the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, and no one of them is protected against falling into errors, such that it is permissible to him or to his followers to follow that which comes to his heart without subjecting it to the test of the Quran and the Sunnah. Whoever does not accept this is in no way or shape or form among the allies of AlMighty God, whom AlMighty God has ordered us to emulate. Such a person is engaged in extreme and excessive foolishness and ignorance.

As'Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu Brothers & Sisters

The Prophet of Islam, my the peace and blessings of All Mighty God be upon him,
explained that "Salah (Prayer) is the Mir'aj of the believers."

In the same way Al'Mighty God longed to meet Muhammad, my the peace and blessings of All Mighty God be upon him, on the night of Mir'aj, He longs to meet his believer during salah. All veils between Him and the Believer are lifted. A believer too longs to meet his Creator through Prayer.

Mir'aj itself is a process of getting close to the Creator. If spirituality itself by definition is attaining closeness to Al'Mighty God, then what better act than Salah (Prayer) for a Believer?

Jabir reported that the Prophet, May the peace & blessings of Al Mighty God be upon him, said, "The best dhikr is 'La ilaha illa'llah,' and the best supplication is 'Al-hamdu lillah'."

Don't think......Feeel

Abu Huryara reported that the Messenger of Allah, May the peace & blessings of Al Mighty God be upon him, said, "Allah Almighty says, 'I am according to My slave's opinion of Me and I am with Him when He remembers Me. When he remembers Me in himself, I mention him in Myself. If he mentions Me in an assembly, I mention him in a better assembly than them.' If he comes near Me by a handspan, I come near him a cubit. If he comes near Me by a cubit, I come near a fathom. When he comes to walking, I come to him running."

True Love!

At the time of the prophet, May the peace & blessings of Al Mighty God be upon him, a man came to the prophet named Sa’ad Al Aswad AlSulumi and asked him,

“Oh, messenger of Al Mighty God, will I also enter into heaven?”
The messenger responded, “Of course you will enter into heaven if you are a believer.”
Sa’ad responded, “But me, I’m regarded as low amongst the believers.”
The prophet said, “Oh Sa’ad for you is the same reward as the rest of the believers,”
And Sa’ad asked, “then why would no one give me their daughter to marry.”

The Prophet told him to go to Ibn AlWahab, and he was one of the leaders of Medina who had just embraced Islam, and his daughter was known for her beauty.
The Prophet told Sa’ad go to Ibn AlWahab and tell him that I have sent you to request his daughters hand in marriage.”

Sa’ad went to the home of Ibn AlWahab looking for him. He was beside himself with excitement. He knocked on the door and said to Ibn AlWahab, The Prophet has sent me to request your daughters hand in marriage. Ibn AlWahab exclaimed, “You! To my daughter! Don’t you know my daughter! She’s known for her beauty,” and he told Sa’ad to go home.

As Sa’ad began to walk away, the daughter heard this, and said, “Oh father, wait. Wait! This is a request of the Messenger of Al Mighty God. Where will we be if we turn down a request of the prophet?! Where will we be if we turn away from the concerns of the messenger?! I’ll tell you where we will be. We will be where we are!” And she turned to Sa’ad and said, “Go to the messenger of Al Mighty God, and tell him I am ready to marry you.”

Sa’ad went to the prophet and he was elated! The prophet married them with a  dowry of 400 dirhams. Upon hearing that amount, Sa’ad exclaimed, “400 dirhams! Oh messenger of Al Mighty God, I have never even seen 400 dirhams!

The prophet instructed him to go to Ali AlNu’man ibn Awf and Uthman and tell them each to give you 200 dirhams each. They both gave him more than 200 dirhams. On his way home to see his wife, he decides to stop by the marketplace to buy some gift for his beautiful wife. While at the market place, he hears the call to arms to prepare for battle. Sa’ad stood where he was and looked into the heavens. He said, “Oh Al Mighty God, I will buy something with this wealth that will please you. Oh Al Mighty God.” He bought a sword and a horse and he covered his face from the view of the messenger. He knew that if the prophet saw him he would send him home because he had just gotten married.

The Sahabi were questioning, “Who is this man riding into battle with his face covered?” Ali replied, “He is coming to fight, leave him.” Sa’ad valiantly rode into battle, and eventually his horse was struck. He stood up, and the prophet saw his dark skin. The prophet asked him, “Oh Sa’ad is that you?!” Sa’ad said, “May my mother and my father be sacrificed for you oh messenger of Al Mighty God. It is Sa’ad. Muhammad, May the peace & blessings of Al Mighty God be upon him, said, “Oh Sa’ad there is no other abode for you but heaven!” He heard this and jumped back into the battlefield. After a while, people called that Sa’ad was wounded. The prophet ran into the battlefield. He ran to find Sa’ad. He took the head of Sa’ad and placed it in his lap.

The tears of the beloved Prophet of Islam were flowing and falling onto the face of Sa’ad. The prophet was crying profusely. After a while, he started to smile, then he looked away. There was a sahaba named Abu Lubaba, who said “Oh Rasullulah, I saw you do something, I’ve never seen you do before. First you cried, then you smiled, and then you looked away.” The Messenger said, “I cried because my beloved companion passed away. And I saw his sacrifice and his love for me. But when I saw his fate is by Al Mighty God, he had reached the hawd.” Abu Lubaba said, “What is the hawd?” He responded, “it is a fountain from which if a person drinks from, they will never be thirsty again. It is sweeter than honey and whiter than milk. And when I saw his status by Al Mighty God, I began to smile. Then I saw his wives in jannah running towards him with such eagerness that their shins were being exposed, so I looked away.”

Then the prophet came towards the sahaba and asked them to bring Sa’ad’s horse and sword. He then told them to take them to Sa’ad’s wife, and tell her that they were her inheritance. And also inform her that Al Mighty God has given Sa’ad wives in jannah even more beautiful than she is.
This was a man, who a while ago, didn’t know if he would attain jannah. He had no status in society. But look at his status by Al Mighty God! Because he lived- he died- for Al Mighty God.

May Al Mighty God make us all people who live for the sake of Al Mighty God. May Al Mighty God keep us united in this world. May Al Mighty God reunite us all in Al Firdaws (highest abode in heaven).

Count The Blessing

Ibin آbid -Dunya mentioned that Dawûd (May the peace and and blessings of Al Mighty God be upon him) asked Al Mighty God , "What is the least of your blessings?" Allah (Al'Mighty God) revealed to him to take a breath. Dawud did so, and Allah (Al Mighty God) told him, ” This is the least of my blessings on you."

Wisdom Quotes

"Humans are amphibians - half spirit and half animal. As spirits they belong to the eternal world, but as animals they inhabit time." -

The Messenger Of Islam (Peace and blessings of Al'Mighty God be upon him) said;
"Shall I introduce to you a weapon which will protect you both from the evils of enemies and increase your sustenance?  They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah.  He said: Call your Lord day and night, for “Dua” is the weapon of a believer.” Sahih Bukhari
“Dua” and afflictions challenge each other until the day of Judgment, yet “Dua” comes out victoriously even if the afflictions are certain to happen.” Sahih Bukhari
"Our deeds depend on our intention.”  or “A believer’s intention is better than his deed.” Sahih Muslim

Al Hamd

Abu Ja`far bin Jarir said, "The meaning of Al-Hamdu Lillah (all praise and thanks be to God) is: all thanks are due purely to Allah (Al'Mighty God), alone, not any of the objects that are being worshipped instead of Him, nor any of His creation

Further, Ibn Jarir commented on the Ayah, Al-Hamdu Lillah means, "A praise that Allah (Al'Mighty God) praised Himself with, indicating to His servants that they too should praise Him, as if Allah had said, `Say: All thanks and praise is due to Allah.' It was said that the statement, (All praise and thanks be to Allah), entails praising Allah by mentioning His most beautiful Names and most honorable Attributes. When one proclaims, `All thanks are due to Allah,' he will be thanking Him for His favors and bounties.''

Hamd is more general, in that it is a statement of praise for one's characteristics, or for what he has done. Thanks are given for what was done, not merely for characteristics.
"Al" before "Hamd" encompasses all Types of Thanks and Appreciation for Allah (Al Mighty God)

Hafs mentioned that `Umar said to `Ali, "We know La ilaha illallah, Subhan Allah and Allahu Akbar. What about Al-Hamdu Lillah'' `Ali said, "A statement that Allah liked for Himself, was pleased with for Himself and He likes that it be repeated.'' Also, Ibn `Abbas said, "Al-Hamdu Lillah is the statement of appreciation. When the servant says Al-Hamdu Lillah, Allah says, `My servant has praised Me.'' Ibn Abi Hatim recorded this Hadith.

The Virtues of Al-Hamd
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal recorded that Al-Aswad bin Sari` said, "I said, `O Messenger of Allah! Should I recite to you words of praise for My Lord, the Exalted, that I have collected' He said,(Verily, your Lord likes Al-Hamd.)'' An-Nasa'i also recorded this Hadith.

Mohib Means...

Mohib is essentially made up of two words.

Mainly the verb Uhib (اُحِبْ) which translates as Lover/Loving in the Arabic language.

Mo derives from the Hindi word Mohabbat (मोहब्बत) which means Love.

The 'Mo' is placed in this name along with 'uhib' as a testament
which uses the simplification of the full name 'Mohammed'.

Mo & Uhib joined create an original meaning all together;

Mo + Uhib = Mohib

MOHIB - مُحِبْ
One Who Loves Mohammed
(Prophet of Islam, Peace be upon him).

"The word ‘Alam' in the Arabic language is the name of something, which becomes the means for knowledge of another thing. Out of ‘Ilm comes the word ‘Alam into existence.

Now, ‘Alam' is the name of something through which you find out about another thing – gaining it’s knowledge. So, the world has been given the name ‘Alam, because if someone’s gazes are correct and thoughts are correct then everything of this world grants you the knowledge of Allah’s Rahmat and Qudrat-e-Qabila."

Love Tokyo Hate Tyranny

"And why should ye not fight in the cause of God and of those who are weak and oppressed?  men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from Thee one who will protect; and raise for us from Thee one who will help!"
 Surah An-Nisa - The Women Verse 75

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
I hope & pray that you are all maintaining good health and positive outlooks by the Will of All Mighty God. I haven't written in such a long while. There is allot happening in my life not to mention I'm struggling to decide the most important or relevant topics to discuss on here as you well know there are lots of important things going on in the world today!

Let me begin by speaking about the current situation taking place in Libya. By now Colonel Ghaddafi is surely befitting of the title of a tyrant ruler. He has caused suffering and killed many people in order to maintain his power as we see him lose grip of what he values most, he is evidently finding the reality of what he must have dreaded all along, isolation amongst his people and condemned to be a traitor to his nation.

God answers prayers, so let us all make a supplication for those people in Libya who are in need of help especially those individuals whose voices are not being heard. I hope that the bloodshed stops soon for the sake of the Libyan people, no nation should be subjugated to such oppressive force. Let us ask God All Mighty to give Ghaddafi what he has earned for himself baring in mind the pain he has caused upon the Libyan people.

This period has also seen a powerful tsunami generated by the largest earthquake in Japan's history, a land magnitude 6.0, slamming its eastern coast, sweeping away cars, homes and people. There are reports that over 9000 have been confirmed dead, and 16000 people are still reported missing.

We must all come together as brothers and sisters of humanity to do what we can to help and assist the people of Japan in the face of this disaster. We must extend our arms of compassion to those who have lost so much including their families. I am witnessing the people of Japan working together to help one another with such admiration. The Japanese Prime minister Naoto Kan deserves credit for projecting a progressive image of functionality in his country during this crisis of huge magnitude.

I want to conclude by reminding all my Muslim readers it is now that we must now be the change we hope to see in the world, The time is now to be the best we can be for the sake of our honor. We are people of Truth, people of Humanity & people of Good Faith. We must stand up to these tyrant leaders & be the force in which this world can be a better place.  It is essential we help our fellow citizens if we are to gain the reward of pleasing our Creator. The time is now to re-evaluate our Islamic obligation and understanding that politics is not actually an essential part to the practice of an individual’s Islam!

Prophet, may the peace and blessings of All Mighty God be upon him, told Hudhayfah “that if there was no clear leader of the Muslims to disengage from all the sects and cling to a private Islam. If he only practiced the five pillars, he would have salvation”.

This is a clear indication from an authentic source that by fulfilling pillars of our faith is enough for you. So brothers and sisters let us  live for All Mighty God and not just prepare to die for Him, let us be assets to our countries, towns and cities. Not for ourselves, but for our brothers and sisters in humanity throughout the globe since we owe them so much!

Greetings Earthlings

As'Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu is the Muslim greeting translated as Peace be upon you and the Mercy of All Mighty God and His Blessings.

The response to this greeting would be:

Wa'Alaikum Salaam wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatahu Which Translates as And unto you Peace and the Mercy of All Mighty God and His Blessings.

The Noble Prophet of Islam, Muhammed, my the peace and blessings of All Mighty God be upon him, has taught the believers of Islam that if they want to spread peace then this glad tiding is essential and whatever is received in a greeting (Salaam) to return it with more.

Last Sermon / Last Prophet

After praising, and thanking God, Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Al'Mighty God be upon him) was quoted saying:

"O People, listen well to my words, for I do not know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Treat others justly so that no one would be unjust to you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (riba), therefore all riba obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital , however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer inequity. God has judged that there shall be no riba and that all the riba due to `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib shall henceforth be waived. Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith ibn `Abd al Muttalib.

O Men, the Unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which God forbade, and to forbid that which God has made permissible. With God the months are twelve in number. Four of them are sacred, three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Sha`ban. Beware of the devil, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God (the One Creator of the universe), perform your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your financial obligation (zakah) of your wealth. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves. Remember, one day you will appear before God (the Creator) and you will answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, no prophet or messenger will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefor, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I am leaving you with the Book of God (the Qur'an) and my Sunnah (the life style and the behavioral mode of the Prophet), if you follow them you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.

Date delivered: 632 A.C., 9th day of Dhul al Hijjah, 10 A.H. in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat.

Only God Will Judge Us

"Surely All Mighty God does not do injustice to the weight of an atom, and if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward." Sura An-Nisa - The Women - verse 40

Belief in the Judgement day commonly referred to as al-Qiyamah (the Resurrection) is considered a basic tenet of faith by all Muslims. The trials associated with the Judgement day are detailed in both the Qur'an and reported sayings of Prophet Muhammad (May the Peace and blessings of Al'Mighty God be upon him) which are called  Hadith. Every human, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, is will be held accountable for their deeds and are believed to be judged by All Mighty God accordingly.

New Year's

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
The Islamic calendar begins in correlation from the time the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him, migrated to the city of Madinah, in Saudi-Arabia. This journey is referred to as the holy pilgrimage - Hijra; The Islamic calendar is referred to as Hijri.

This year, the first day of the Hijri is approximately 26th November 2011 of the Gregorian calendar. The Hijri is a lunar calendar which has 12 lunar months in a year of about 354 days.

The Hijri calendar allows Muslims worldwide to determine Islamic holidays accurately. Islamic New Year celebrations mainly concentrate on religious practices. This year for the first time I attended my local mosque with my brothers for congregational prayers and informative lectures. I must say it was a pleasurable experience which by far exceeded some of my previous New Year Eve's antics.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

The 2011 milestone has just been reached and another year has passed us by, may All Mighty God grant us prosperity and the ability to see another new year.

Given the importance of self improvement in Islam,  I felt an appropriate time to discuss ways we can use this period effectively by joining with our brother and sisters of humanity, we can better ourselves and the societies we live in collectively.

It has become a traditional practice to set a 'new years resolutions' for personal improvement during the coming year. These goals can prove to be a powerful way to help you direct your future, however, there is no concept of “New Year Resolutions” within the Islamic teachings. Moreover, as Muslims we should be constantly assessing our own situation, rather than waiting  for a designated time to perform such sincere acts.

The process of making resolutions is about you paying attention to yourself. If you don’t set yourself goals, how can you move forward. Resolutions tend to be steps that help you toward your goals while still maintaining the daily chores of life; resolutions mainly improve your behavioral impacts on other people ; most importantly as a believer, resolutions are about your relationship with your Creator and how you will strengthen that relationship.

So readers, I encourage you all to take time and analyze where you stand and where you want to be. I pray we do not become victims of procrastination and of undesirable habits. We must realize that it is only we who can help ourselves.

why not take the initiative – know yourself better and invest in a pursuit of personal transformation that can help you, your families and the world around you; Because if
YOU do not make the efforts, All Mighty God will not help you.

"This is so because Allah does not change the favour that He has conferred upon a people, until they change themselves; and verily Allah Hears, Knows."
Surah Al Anfâl - Spoils Of War – Verse 53.
